Kama River Bridge in Perm

DESCRIPTION

Bridge over the Kama River, which provides connection of the Northern and Eastern bypass roads of the city of Perm.

Three options of the bridge crossing were considered:

line 1 – Verkhnekurinskaya St.– Svobody St.

line 2 – Krisanova St. – ‘Kamskaya Dolina’ district

line 3 – Okulova St. – ‘Kamskaya Dolina’ district

Line 3 was recommended as a result of engineering and economical comparison of the above options.

OPTIONS OF ARCHITECTURAL SOLUTIONS

Extradosed System

  • superstructures of prestressed concrete of Eхtradosed System
  • four-span bridge according to the schema: 150+260+260+150m
  • reinforced concrete pylons made of cast in-situ reinforced concrete
  • four traffic lanes (including the safety one), width – 27.5 m
  • carriageway total width – 30.6 m
  • overall length – 1,500 m

Cable-Stayed System

  • two pylon bridge, A-shaped pylons
  • main span – 520 m
  • bridge schema: 250+520+250 m
  • stays location: two planes of the ‘Fan’ system
  • pylons height – 160 m
  • left-bank approach: ramp section, which passes into a closed tunnel cross-section under the motor roads
  • section total length – 1,256 m

Arch System

  • four-span bridge according to the schema: 160+300+260+160m with approach flyovers
  • middle span length – 880 m
  • arched, simple, steel spans with expansion joints
  • ‘rigid arch with a flexible tightening’ combined system with a roadway below
  • 4 traffic lanes (including the safety one)
  • width – 27.5 m
  • carriageway total width – 30.6 m
  • entire length – 1,500 m
FACILITIES AS PART OF THE ROUTE

Traffic interchange on Magistralnaya St. by Speshilova St.

Type: ‘tube’ with the preservation of the old overpass over the railway, fuel filling station and State Road Safety Inspectorate Road Patrol Service.

Road interchange at the intersection of Bortsov Revolutsii Street

Type: ‘clover’

Junction at the intersection with Okulova St., Stroiteley St., Bolshevistskaya St., Lenina St., Lokomotivnaya St. and Schosseynaya St.

Type: special design, complex schema with separate right and left turn exits at the various levels plus circular traffic for the comfort of motorists and pedestrian safety including transferring the tram traffic to a new direction
